December 6, 13 & 20 — The Meaning of Christmas

Upcoming in January...

Fearfully & Wonderfully Made: Understanding your Spiritual Story —
Our family of origin plays a significant role in shaping us. This three-week
class will explore the influence our families have had on our spiritual formation. Participants will reflect upon their background to understand the perspective of religion and spirituality in their family, clarify and deepen their understanding of their own spirituality, and link their spiritual lives with their daily/ professional lives. Nancy Sayer, LCPC, a therapist from Samaritan Interfaith Counseling Center in Naperville, will lead this group, which meets 9:45-10:45 a.m., January 10, 17 and 24.

Jesus Today: A Spirituality of Radical Freedom —
Today, we know more about Jesus, his message, context and his spirituality than perhaps at any time since the first centuries that followed him. Pastor Miller will lead this fourweek examination of the living spirit of Jesus love and freedom and the particular relevance for our time, as we root our spirituality in Jesus own spirituality. The group meets 9:45-10:45 a.m., January 3, 10, 17 & 24.

January 31— No adult ed.

8:45-10:30 a.m.

Wednesday nights from 6:00-7:30pm
Christian Application Small Group:
Part Book Club, part Round Table, this small group discussion always leaves you excited for the next meeting. Do you like to discuss the challenges and achievements of your faith? Do you recognize ways in which Christianity is seen (or not seen) in your personal and professional life? in your neighborhood? at school? in the political world? Every Wednesday night, a small group of 25-40 year old men and women meet to discuss these issues and more, using Christian fiction and non-fiction works as the focal point. Examples of books used so far (Cup of Our Life - daily Lenten study; Death by Suburb - one chapter read per week; The Power of Love - one chapter read per week). The cost of each book has been about $15. Books are chosen and led by individual group members and last as long as the book lasts (usually dependent on the number of chapters). Because the study period is as long or short as the book, it is difficult to say when the next study will begin.

Feel free to contact any regular group members with any questions: (Steve) flyers0581@gmail.com, (Tracy) shorty1226@hotmail.com, (Jen) JGoles21@hotmail.com, (Julie) jloos@wideopenwest.com, or Abbey (abbeyhendu@gmail.com).
Childcare is available.
