Please join us for Sunday School at 9:45 on Sunday mornings!
The preschoolers continue to use the curriculum, Faithweavers by Group Publishing. This curriculum is designed to “weave faith” into everyday life, hopefully making class time meaningful for all of the children! They meet in their classrooms each week and join the large group in the Sanctuary for Opening. They are picked up from their classrooms after learning their lesson through stories, crafts, games and snacks.
Kindergarten-5th graders are enjoying a new rotation model based curriculum, Power Xpress by Cokesbury Publishing. They are experiencing their lessons through Art, Computer, Cookery, Games, Music/Movement, Science, Storytelling and Video! They gather at 9:45 in the Sanctuary for our Opening.  After singing and an introduction to the lesson, Confirmation aged shepherds lead them to their designated station for that week.  Parents may pick up their children in the Fellowship Hall at 10:45. Our 2nd unit “Creation” will run 10/18, 10/25, 11/1. The children will be learning about creation through Art, Computers, Music/Movement and Science! Our 3rd unit “The Gift of Jesus” will run 11/15, 11/22, 12/6 and 12/13. The 2010 (January-May) volunteer opportunities will be posted in late October. Please check it out! A leader’s commitment is for 3 Sundays only!
We will once again be participating in Sleep-Out-Saturday- this year’s date is November 7. This is an event to build awareness and raise funds for Bridge Communities. Bridge Communities is an organization that helps needy families who reside in DuPage County, transition to independence. They provide temporary homes, tutoring, job skills training and much more.  We will be attending a Rally in Glen Ellyn, followed by activities back at church. We will be sleeping out on the front lawn at church that night. All Sunday School families are encouraged to participate!
There will be no Sunday School on 11/8, 11/29, 12/20 and 12/27.
